Dante and I are honored to be creating an interactive installation titled One and All at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 20, 2014.
Our community is shaped by what each of us contributes, receives, and experiences. Each piece, no matter how small, matters. One and All invites people to share small beauties in order to create a larger work for MLK Day. The work will evolve throughout the day as people add, subtract, and change small pieces.
It is our hope that by documenting what we love and the good that defines our communities, we can explore our interrelatedness and strengthen our network of mutuality. That justice in any one place can inspire justice in all places.
Over the next few months we will be collecting photographs of things we love, things that inspire us, things that make our communities better. Dante and I will use those images to create a larger piece that will be exhibited at the IMA on MLK Day.
